A remaster of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land is coming next month, the great platformer and minigames released on Wii, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
Although practically all gamers know Kirby, the truth is that the character is more popular than his franchise itself. In fact, together with Metroid it occupies a prominent place among the most popular and at the same time less successful Nintendo sagas (in sales figures).
However, that all changed with the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. HAL Laboratory managed to successfully adapt the platform formula to 3D, and also by introducing the open world factor.
Therefore, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is already the best-selling game in the entire saga, accumulating more than 5.3 million copies sold. This has opened the ban for future deliveries of the IP.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe – Switch Trailer
In a month we will be able to enjoy Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, a remastered version of the platform game released for Wii.
Whether you’ve already played it on Wii or not, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe promises to be one of the great exclusives of Nintendo Switch in this 2023.
Sandy Kirby… and something else
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land is one of the most beloved games in the entire saga, as it retains the 2D gameplay but in three-dimensional settings and relying on the cooperative factor.
We can not only control Kirby (who maintains his absorption abilities), but also other characters such as Maglor, King Dedede, Waddle Dee with scarf or Meta Knight.
But Nintendo and HAL Laboratory want to offer certain novelties, thus justifying that we are dealing with a Deluxe version (the term most used for remasters on Switch). We’re talking about exciting new abilities for Kirby.
February 24 arrives #KirbysReturnToDreamLandDeluxe and brings a new copy ability: Sand! With it you can give all kinds of shapes to the sand and create everything from a fist to a castle, and thus stand up to tough enemies. pic.twitter.com/C9szLh7ITd

Via the Spanish Nintendo account, we now know that Kirby has the Arena copy ability. What does it consist of? Well, pay attention, because it will be very useful during the combats.
Basically our pink hero can absorb sand and make it take the shape of an object. For example, you can turn the sand into a big castle, into a fist, or into a storm.
Nintendo has also confirmed that the Festival Copy ability will also return in this remaster. It’s one of the most popular abilities, introduced in Kirby Star Allies, and it’s bringing its crazy concept to Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
Other abilities already confirmed for Kirby are Sword, Catapum and Sleep, which are already classics in the fun games of HAL Laboratory. Of course there will also be multiplayer modes and minigames.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe will hit stores next February 24thexclusively for Nintendo Switch, and with the aim of publicizing this excellent Wii title in the middle of 2023. Will you get hold of it?
