Return to Monkey Island has uncovered its most important details, including the price. With this in hand we have to say that the game contradicts one of the most famous phrases of the original title.
Announced a few months ago as one of the most pleasant surprises of this 2022 and accompanied by a certain division in terms of artistic design, Return to Monkey Island has been one of the most outstanding titles since then.
Although we already knew a few aspects related to the game, we still had to know such important data as the price, the release date and the list of platforms. As well, Gamescom 2022 served to publicize all that.
We told you that Return to Monkey Island will be released on September 19 on Nintendo Switch and PC, but we did not know the price at which it would arrive. Now we finally know thanks to the Steam page and watch out because you have a curiosity.

Return to Monkey Island will launch at €22.99, a relatively low price, but not so low as to keep one of the great lines spoken in the original game. Effectively, this new installment contradicts the first game in the saga.
Why? Because in The Secret of Monkey Island it was said that you should never pay more than 20 dollars for a game… It stays very close, but it is still a curious fact and, to a certain degree, nice.
Will you get Return to Monkey island? Remember that the game returns to those graphic adventures of yesteryear and is a direct sequel to The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revengebeing developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.
The plot of this new game presents us with a somewhat bleak panorama on the island that we know so well… Take a look at the official premise of this installment:
It has been many years since Guybrush Threepwood last faced off in a duel of wits with his nemesis, the zombie pirate LeChuck. His true love, Elaine Marley, is no longer Governor and Guybrush himself is lost and feels incomplete, as he never got to discover the Secret of Monkey Island.
Young, hip pirates, led by Captain Madison, have driven out the old guard, Mêlée Island has gone bust, and famous businessman Stan has been jailed for “marketing-related offences.”
Of course, the game will be a love letter to the saga and it has already become clear with several gameplays in which we have been able to see some of the mythical places of the franchise again.
