The writers of Stranger Things used one of the official Twitter accounts of the series to warn about the scam circulating on social networks about alleged pages of the series’ script that are for sale.

The Stranger Things fever has led some fans to pay large amounts to acquire pages of the scripts of season 4 in which they contain notes that alter the meaning of the original scenes.

Nevertheless, these alleged pages are actually fake that have been created to trick fans into paying hundreds of dollars believing they can find clues to the future of the Stranger Things series.

Desperation is the best incentive for scammers to create pages with fake Stranger Things scriptsespecially when they promise to confirm fan theories about what to expect in the final season.

That’s why when some supposedly official Season 4 script pages were “leaked” online, many fans jumped on them without even wondering if they were real.

Among these alleged scripts were pages detailing, for example, how Will (Noah Schnapp) struggles with his sexual identity to the point of loathing himself or that Nancy (Natalia Dyer) is convinced to leave Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) and return to the arms of Steve (Joe Keery).

Such has been the echo that the scripts of the series have had that the writers of Stranger Things have had to warn on Twitter about the scam.

“Any ‘leaked’ season 4 scripts or script pages are FAKE. Do not pay anyone for scripts as this is a SCAM,” the writers warned.

After the broadcast of its fourth season, the Duffer brothers are currently writing the script for Stranger Things 5, which will mean the definitive closure of the series that started on Netflix back in 2016.

Little by little the showrunners have been revealing some details about where the Stranger Things final season (and without charging for it), where they confirmed that this time it will be shorter and that its plot will take place entirely in Hawkins, although at the moment not much more is known about what the Duffers will have prepared for us.
