Frogwares explains that, under normal conditions, they would never have had a problem financing their next game with the sales of the previous one, as they have been doing for 20 years. But Ukraine’s war with Russia It has caused new challenges for the studio, which returned to work as soon as they could to keep the economy afloat.

Some of its members are even serving in the army or in humanitarian aid associations. Frogwares headquarters is in kyiv, a city far from the front but on which Russian bombs have also fallen.

this uncertainty (not being able to make long-term plans, for example) has led them to the decision to make a Kickstarter to have a safety net that guarantees them that they can finish the game (which being a remake of a game from 2006, is less ambitious than their last open world games, such as Sherlock Hokmes Chapter One).
