Firaxis leaves us speechless with a new trailer for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the tactical action game that has undergone major changes in recent months.
The Marvel factory has given us great video games in recent years, but this time it will plunge headlong into the most tactical action. This is Marvel’s Midnight Suns, What’s new from Firaxis who plans to surprise us with his action and tactical combat.
As planned, Midnight Suns has been one of the protagonists of the inaugural event of Summer Game Fest 2022 (here you can read a summary). Of course, keep in mind that there are many events and streams to watch in the coming days.
The most striking thing about Midnight Suns is its proposal close to the XCOM saga. In its first trailers we saw a proposal that combined the tactical with the importance of decisions… and at the Summer Game Fest we have been offered the following trailer to the rhythm of Metallica.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns – Darkness Falls Trailer
Be careful, because Firaxis has announced the release date for Midnight Suns. The title will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Stadia next October 7.
Midnight Suns has undergone many changes, as you can see in the trailer. In this tactical action game we control different Marvel heroes (Wolverine, Iron Man, Ghost Rider…) in his fight against Lilith and her demons. For now there are confirmed up to 12 heroes.
The great novelty is the incorporation of spider-manbut in the villains section we can see how Lilith has ”possessed” the fearsome Venom or even the Hulk. The trailer is quite a spectacle.
Perhaps we expected more playable news itself, but there is no denying that the trailer is amazing. The presence of Venom, Spider-Man, Hulk and other Marvel characters it does nothing but increase interest in the title.
Not only that, but we can create our own character. This receives the name of The hunter, and we can equip it with up to 40 superpowers. At the moment there are no more details about it.
The great peculiarity is that the title will no longer depend so much on the use of cards. When it was first announced, its combat system was based on action cards.
Now Midnight Suns is a title more action-oriented and pure and simple tactical combat. Of course, luckily for us, the ingredients of decision-making and relationship management between the characters have been preserved.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will hit stores next October 7available launch in PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia. Finally, and to the delight of many, the Nintendo Switch version has not been canceled (or so it seems).
