Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is delayed again and Ubisoft insists it has not been canceled

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is not canceled, but its development is slow, so to speak. Ubisoft continues with the game, but at its own pace of course.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was announced more than a year and a half ago, in September 2020. The game has had many goings-on and although Ubisoft insists that it is not cancelled, it has delayed the game again.

As we read from IGN.coma scheduling issue for the upcoming title has caused it to be removed from stores.

This is not the first time it has happened (hopefully the last) because in October of last year the French company already remembered that everything was still the same and without a date; discreetly delaying it.

The medium comments that stores like GameStop and others have been eliminating reservations of the next Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remakecausing users to worry.

After all, there is still little we know about the project or how its development is going. Although last month we learned that this Remake changed studios at Ubisoft.

Now as confirmed by IGN, the game is still in development and it seems that it has even moved beyond fiscal year 2023.

This only means that we would no longer see it in 2022 as confirmed just last year. But this is perhaps understandable, the pandemic it has wreaked havoc on the studios and still continues to do so.

In a statement to IGN, Ubisoft says: “The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montreal.

We are proud of the work of Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai, but Montreal will benefit from their learnings as the new team continues to work to deliver a great remake.“.

To this Ubisoft itself adds: “As a consequence, we no longer target fiscal year 2023 and the game has been removed.

If players wish to cancel their reservations they are invited to contact their store. You will be updated on the project as development continues“.

Despite this statement, no launch window has been given and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Still no approximate date.

Will we see it in 2023 or will it be next year? That’s up to Ubisoft and its Montreal studio, but it seems the Prince’s return is a long way off.

Although Immortals Fenyx Rising 2, a new Prince of Persia and more Assassin’s Creed would be Ubisoft’s next bets.

All this while a rumor assures that a Prince of Persia 2D would be in development together with the remake of the Sands of Time.
