The Quakecon will be in digital format again next August. Bethesda apologizes and confirms that they have not been able to plan a face-to-face staging for this edition.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a blow to all of us. Inevitably, the video game industry had to suspend your events and face-to-face conferences… and a clear example is the famous E3.
Although it seems that the worst is over, the truth is that the situation has not yet fully stabilized. Of course, and to cite an example, Gamescom will be held in person in August.
What happens to the QuakeCon? You already know that this Bethesda conference is a great party for fans of Quake, Wolfenstein and Doom’s sister IP that last year had a remarkable remaster for PC and current consoles.
Unfortunately, the event was digital… Y this year history will repeat itself. This has been confirmed by Bethesda on his official Twitter account, apologizing to fans.
Thus, QuakeCon 2022 will be held August 18-20 under a digital format. This will make it impossible to hold the so-called LAN parties, which we fondly remember from the 1990s.
”It’s a disappointment for everyone that we can’t go back to Dallas this year.. An event of these characteristics requires months of planning, and, as is the case, we had to make decisions when the uncertainty about being able to hold an event on-site was very great.”.

Basically, Bethesda has not had the time to organize QuakeCon 2022 in person, because it required many months of preparation. Of course, it seems that this will return in 2023.
Meanwhile, Bethesda states that they will give more details of this next edition in June. they are preparing new conferences, online streaming, virtual LAN parties and much more.
”Our desire and commitment is see each other again at the 2023 event”, says Bethesda in the statement. Also, we can’t rule out the odd new announcement… like last year’s Quake Remastered.
QuakeCon 2022 will be held from August 18 to 20 of this year. It will be an event in digital format again, although there will be many surprises, thematic meetings, events for the Quake saga and many new features.
