Sony Group Corporation will invest 1 billion dollars in Epic Gameswith the aim of strengthening its position towards the metaverse, and ensuring technological advances around Unreal Engine 5, the company’s new graphics engine.

After the closing of the operation, Epic Games capital amounts to 31,500 million dollars. Sony and KIRKBI will split the $2 billion 50% increase, though Epic will keep most of its shares private under the base structure.
