How to beat Sir Gideon Ofnir and avoid all his magical attacks in Elden Ring
battle tips
- The recommended level for the battle against this boss is 115, and with weapons that are level 20 or higher.
- As you well know, this is a magical focus enemy, so most shields won’t be up to the task and you need to tackle a more long-distance engagement.
- It has a wide variety of attacks that do a wide variety of damage types such as magic, holy, fire, bleeding or rot, among others. The key is that it does practically no physical damage.
- This enemy actually gains two additional spells if the player has defeated certain previous bosses.
- Another thing to keep in mind is that this enemy can heal himself, and he can use a series of vials that restore about half of his health. With the winged scythe you can disable his healing ability for a limited time.
- You should keep in mind that for a short period of time the enemy will give you a perfect moment to attack, and then start a streak of magical attacks.
- You can use the geometry of the room, especially the stone pillars, as a shield from his magical attacks.
- As you may have already imagined, you should always focus this confrontation from a distance and do not hesitate to use strong magic attacks because you can even stagger the enemy.
- In some very particular moments you could even approach him from behind and deal him a good blow.
- You should keep in mind that many of his projectiles have an unconventional trajectory and even return to the enemy after being fired.
- Try to use spells that can’t be easily dodged to make it easier to hit your opponent.
- You could end up using some items like eternal darkness which creates a black hole that absorbs other projectile based magic, basically redirecting and negating most of the enemy’s spells.
- On the other hand, Ranni’s Dark Moon or Rennala’s Full Moon fire slow-moving projectiles that cancel and absorb any other spells they hit along the way.
Once you have defeated him, he will drop all his armor, an omniscient set, but also the scepter of the omniscient, which is a unique hammer with a scale of strength, dexterity and intelligence that comes with the special ability of “knowledge above of everything”.
