Although the main protagonists of Xiaomi’s presentation have been its smartphones, the Xiaomi Watch S1 and Xiaomi Watch S1 Active smartwatches, two identical devices, with the only difference its design, the materials of its dial and its strap. As for the Active model, it is quite likely that in a short time we will begin to see many people use it, since all customers who buy the Xiaomi 12 during the pre-purchase period will receive it as a gift.
The difference in materials between both models, however, provides an extra elegance to the Xiaomi Watch S1, a smartwatch that, seen from the side, could easily pass for a designer analog clock, especially if we equip it with its leather strap. However, under this design, we are faced with watches that, without a doubt, have sport in their DNA.

As you will have verified when reviewing the specifications, you will have been able to confirm what I indicated at the beginning, and that is that we are facing two devices identical in specifications (and therefore in performance), which are distinguished only by the design extras of the Xiaomi Watch S1, that is, its dial made of sapphire glass, and its leather strap, as well as the fact that in this regard, this model includes two straps.
For the rest, we find a smartwatch with a screen of a fairly decent size, 1.43 inches, housed in a 46.5 x 46.5 millimeter dial, a little over a centimeter thick. Excluding the weight of the strap, its weight ranges between 52 grams for the Xiaomi Watch S1 and 36.3 grams for the Active model. Thus, we find a watch with a screen of the most appropriate size, and yet it is quite light.
With regard to its connectivity, the company has not fallen short, since it has provided it with WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC payment functions. In addition, it also offers compatibility with the main satellite positioning systems, GPS, Galileo, Glonass, etc.. Something that, added to the sensors it integrates, makes the Xiaomi Watch S1 a good option for practicing sports both indoors and outdoors, as well as for monitoring some important aspects of our vital signs.
