Rumor: Lucasfilm plans to revive Star Wars Tales of the Jedi as a Disney + movie or series

A Lucasfilm product handed out to employees appears to have leaked a new Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi project, which could be a new Disney + series.

The Star Wars universe will expand on Disney + with a multitude of series. So far, the incredibly successful The Mandalorian has ushered in a new era in the post-Skywalker saga, including the animated series The Clone Wars, The Bad Remittance, and Star Wars Visions.

The Book of Boba Fett opens next week, inaugurating a year in which the series is also expected Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi. But what else is on the horizon? A gift from Lucasfilm to its employees could have leaked an unannounced project: Tales of the Jedi.

On the spine of the box with the gift that Lucasfilm employees have received, you can see the logos of eight projects of the production company, all of them already known: Boba Fett, The Bad Batch (which will receive second season), Andor, Obi- Wan Kenobi, Star Wars Visions, and Out of the Galaxy series Willow and Indiana Jones 5.

This is striking Star Wars Tales of the Jedi logo, a project we’ve never heard of before. Is it a movie or a series for Disney +? Is it even real?

star wars tales of the jedi

Popularly abbreviated TotJ, Tales of the Jedi was a series of comics published by Dark Horse between 1994 and 1998 that, although they are no longer part of the canon (they are Legends), told stories of the Great Sith War, in the Age of the Old Republic, setting the precedent for KOTOR .. .

Will you adapt them directly in serial format? Will they use the name for a series set in their new transmedia project The High Republic? Will David Cage’s new game have something to do with it?

For now, it’s time to speculate, but all these series or movies are in some more or less advanced stage of development, so we can hope that Tales of the Jedi It is a more tangible reality than other Star Wars series that at the moment only have the name: The Acolyte, Ahsoka, Lando

To those we would have to subtract Rangers of the New Republic, which was to be a spin-off of The Mandalorian starring Gina Carano, which was canceled after the actress was fired.
