Qualcomm and Razer prepare a development kit for next-generation mobile games

As they just shared from VideoCardz, it seems to have leaked what seems a first joint development kit from Qualcomm and Razer, with which both companies could enter into the creation of new devices for the reproduction of mobile games, in this case not referring to smartphones, but to your own portable console.

These leaks show us some first slides with the next Qualcomm processors for their 2022 products, including Snapdragon G3x, specifically designed for a handheld game console. This developer kit features a device very similar to the latest handheld consoles, with two controllers located on either side of a screen that will span the entire body.

So, we can see some of its main specifications, equipped with an OLED panel (without specifying dimensions) cwith HDR resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a huge 6,000 mAh battery. Additionally, we can see mentioned some of the advantages of the processor, such as its connectivity 5G mmWave, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Although perhaps what most catches our attention is the presence of a 1080p front camera.

Although at the moment none of the companies has commented on the matter, this is not the first time that we have seen Razer feel the market for portable consoles or handheld computers, although judging by the details shown in this development kit , everything indicates that this time the Taiwanese company is planning the launch of a device aimed at broadcasting games.

On the other hand, although at the moment there seems to be no direct relationship, along with this slide we have also been able to see some of the characteristics of the next Qualcomm flagship processor. On this occasion we find a direct mention of the new Snapdragon 8 flagship processors, defined with a user experience 20% faster and 30% more energy efficient compared to Qualcomm’s current flagship SoC; accompanied by a 4th generation Adreno GPU, estimated to offer 30% more performance and 25% energy savings.

However, as we said, this does not ensure the arrival of a possible second model oriented to an even more premium area, but it does help us to offer something more relevance to the filtration of this portable console.
