Today, November 30, 2021, marks the 20th anniversary of the premiere of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in theaters in Spain.
It seems incredible, but it has been no more and no less than 20 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone landed in theaters, the film adaptation of the popular work of JK Rowling.
Although it was released in the United Kingdom on November 12, 2001, it was not until the 30th of that same month that Spanish fans could enjoy themselves in the cinemas of the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone movie.
This fantasy adventure movie revolves around Harry Potter, an apparently normal and ordinary boy who lives with his uncles after the death of his parents, who treat him very badly.
Everything will change for the boy when he turns eleven years old, as he discovers that he is a wizard son of two outstanding wizards and is invited to study at the Hogwarts school of magic and sorcery and learn everything necessary to be a good wizard.
Befriending Ron and Hermione, Harry will live multiple adventures while having to deal with the threat of Voldemort, a powerful dark wizard responsible for the death of his parents and who shares a bond with Potter through his scar in the form of lightning.
Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert grint and Emma Watson were the young actors in charge of interpreting Harry, Ron and Hermione respectively, accompanying a cast of the stature of Richard Harris, Maggie smith, Alan Rickman, Richard Griffiths, Ian Hart and John hurt, among others.
On the occasion of Harry Potter 20th Anniversary, HBO Max will bring together a good part of the film’s cast in a special program in the style of Friends: The Reunion, although its author JK Rowling will not participate in the Harry Potter special.
