Netflix is working on a live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, starring Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley and Dallas Liu.
After premiering a live action series of the mythical anime Cowboy bebop that has not finished convincing in this adaptation, the next bet of Netflix is to bring to your platform a live action series Avatar the last Airbender.
The live action of Avatar: The Last Airbender takes as its starting point the animated series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan konietzko, who were also initially involved in the project of bringing their creation to a real image.
Unfortunately, both DiMartino and Konietzko left production after realizing that Netflix was not honoring its promise to uphold the vision of its creators in this new version of Avatar.
But the Netflix adaptation is still underway, and the start of filming for the series has brought with it the first images in which we can see the cast and crew of Avatar the last Airbender.
In the first image we can see the protagonists of the series, on the one hand we have Gordon cormier in the role of the Avatar Aang -Which, by the way, we will see with a shaved head- already Kiawentiio, who will play the water master Katara.
We also see Ian Ousley, what will be Sokka, Katara’s brother who has no skill over the elements but is very skilled with the boomerang, and finally to Dallas liu, like the prince Zuko, of the Fire nation.
In the second photograph we find the protagonists together with the showrunner of the series, Albert kim, and other members of the creative team: the executive producers Lindsey liberatore and Dan linas well as the directors Jet Wilkinson, Jabbar raisani, Michael Goi and Roseanne liang.
In addition to these images, Netflix has also released the full cast of the series: Paul Sun-Hyung Lee will be the uncle Iroh, Lim Kay Siu will be Gyatso, from The Air Nomads, Ken Leung will be the Commander Zhaoof the Fire Nation, and Daniel Dae Kim will play Zuko’s father, the Fire Lord Ozai.
