New Star Wars book reveals Darth Plagueis wanted to create a Force dyad with Palpatine

Although the Skywalker Saga concluded in 2019 with the for many forgettable Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, the Star Wars Universe keep going with the new series and movies that are being produced.

But many more details about the popular galactic franchise are also known through the various official books that are being released, among the most recent Secrets of the Sith.

As pointed out Screen Rant, this star wars book is displayed as a compilation of notes made by the Emperor Palpatine, aka Darth sidious.

The publication collects new information on Darth plagueis, Palpatine’s Sith master whose existence we learned about in the movie Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith when Palpatine tells part of his master’s story to the young man Anakin Skywalker to finish luring him to the dark side.

It seems that Darth Plagueis was particularly interested in the legend of the force dyad, which he believed to be a source of power greater than life itself.

“My teacher, Darth Plagueis, tried to forge that bond with me,” records Palpatine in the book. “Although he was wise in the ways of the Force, he proved himself unworthy of the task.”

“I also tried to facilitate such a connection with my apprentice Anakin Skywalker. However, even with the so-called Chosen by my side, the balance we shared pulled back the perfection of the dyad,” added the Sith Master.

As hinted at in the Star Wars novel The Rise of SkywalkerFor the Force dyad to be effective it must be created by the will of the Force, requiring the presence of the Light Side and the Dark Side.

According to the book, connection between Rey and Kylo Ren he had “refined himself in the fire of mutual search, shared pain, anger and hatred, but also compassion and empathy.”
