NetherRealm works on Mortal Kombat 12, but the "Smash Bros." Warner is real, according to a well-known insider

Yesterday a very surprising rumor emerged: a fighting game in the style of Super Smash Bros., but starring the characters from the Warner Bros franchises: Batman, Lord of the Rings, Flintstones Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry, Mad Max and even Harry Potter.

This amazing game, which could be titled ‘Multiversus‘according to a record, it appeared on the Reddit GamingLeakAndRumors, and its author has edited the message stating that many sources have written corroborating the rumor, describing it as a “great open secret”.

However, something that does not seem to be true is that the game is from NetherRealm Studios, the creators of Mortal Kombat and Injustice. The insider Jeff grubb commented on Twitter that this game is indeed real, but it is not a NetherRealm game.

Grubb further insisted that as far as he knows, NetherRealm is making the next Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 12., after ending Mortal Kombat 11, the best-selling of the saga.

In fact, it appears that for some reason the Reddit leaker said it was from NetherRealm Studios. knowing that this was not true by the way, comor clarified later in one of the comments: “Sometimes you have to cover your back, but I guess the party’s over“He felt playful that hugeleakeractually.

However, he says again that NetherRealm is involved in the game in some way, perhaps lending some of its characters or as additional support, but this game seems to be very different from NetherRealm’s gameplay.

The leaker described it as a clone of Super Smash Bros., also based on the Melee speed and depth. Interestingly now that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is over (with the inclusion of Sora, which almost never happens), many Western studios are looking to get a slice of the formula with similar games.

Just came out Nickeloden All-Star Brawl, and the leaker suggests that there are other “crossover platform fighting games” in development besides this one from Warner.

Interestingly, not long ago there was already a crossover between Gandalf and Batman: LEGO Dimensions. What others warner characters would you like to see in a fighting game? The Looney Tunes? Dune? If they come out in Fortnite, we don’t see why they wouldn’t be here.
