Not bad at all Final fantasy since he tried his luck with the genre MMO. We already saw it with Final Fantasy XI, and now history repeats itself with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Not surprisingly, the Square Enix game has managed to unseat authentic MMORPG behemoths like World of Warcraft. And it seems that your success is far from over.
In an interview on the occasion of the Endwalker expansion, the director and producer Naoki Yoshida had given a few interesting facts about Final Fantasy 14, which is available on PlayStation and PC.
The first, and most important, is that Final Fantasy XIV is already the most profitable game in the entire saga, picking up the witness of the other MMORPG in the franchise, Final Fantasy XI.
This has been in the making since the game’s launch. This evolution is, to say the least, impressive, as the number of users of the title have multiplied by six in recent years.
Sometimes we forget, but Yoshida himself has recognized his mistakes: Final Fantasy 14 was released in 2010, but had to be relaunched in 2013 to begin your climb to triumph.
Following the release of the first expansion, Heavensward, the MMORPG accumulated a player base of 4 millions. With the second, Stormblood, the figure amounted to 10 million.
The arrival of the third expansion, Stormblood, grew the user base to 16 million… and finally we can say that Final Fantasy XIV currently has 24 million of players around the world.
The future looks exciting for Final Fantasy XIV. Naoki Yoshida himself confirmed months ago that the game will have five more years of support… at the very least, and that’s not counting the next expansion.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, the new expansion for the MMORPG, coming to PS5, PS4 and PC on November 23. This means that many more players will join Square Enix’s multiplayer fantasy epic … which has no roof.
