Far Cry 6 is right around the corner, and Ubisoft is going to make sure you don’t forget who they have on the cover: Giancarlo Esposito, “everyone’s favorite villain” known for his roles in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Mandalorian or The Boys.
In Far Cry 6, Esposito plays Anton Castillo, the dictator of a fictional Caribbean country, the island of Yara. We play a revolutionary, Dani Rojas, but it seems that Esposito will have an important role in the story, and his face is on the cover and the entire promotional campaign, like this trailer played by himself (although it seems that in Spain it will be folded).
The tropical setting of the island of Yara, its revolutionary and clearly political context and the freedom of action in the first person, with the possibility of even creating our own weapons with scrap metal, will be the hallmarks of Far Cry 6, the greatest bet from Ubisoft for this holiday campaign.
Far Cry 6 will come out October 7 on PS5, Xbox Series X / S, PS4, Xbox One, PC and the subscription services Stadia, Amazon Luna and Ubisoft Connect. As usual, it will have a long post-release life, with DLC even crossovering with Stranger Things and featuring Danny Trejo as a guest.
At the end of October, Ubisoft will also launch Riders Republic, a multiplayer extreme sports game featuring skiing, snowboarding, mountain bikes and winged suits.
However, do not expect new Assassin’s Creed or Watch Dogs for a season, as Ubisoft will continue to squeeze Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, its most successful installment, with a second year of DLC. Of course, on October 19 the Discoery Tour Viking Age will be released, for those who want to live a calmer and more educational experience, or to see the game again from another perspective.
