One year after the launch of the ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15 Duo, which we had the pleasure of being able to test and analyze on this website, the company returns to the fray with the new Zephyrus 15 Duo SE, an updated and more powerful version of this top-of-the-range gaming laptop, equipped with the latest generation of AMD processors and NVIDIA graphics.
And it is that to the already known models, an even larger version is now joining. As they have shared since LaptopUnderBudget, it seems that a web store would have booked in advance The ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15 Duo SE GX551QM-ES96, a model that not even listed on the ASUS website yet, revealing most of its features as the presence of Ryzen 9 5800H processors and Ryzen 9 5980HX, the fastest Cezanne-H model listed by AMD and a direct competitor to Intel’s Core i9-11980HKs.
An 8-core, 16-thread CPU with a 3.3 GHz base clock (up to 4.8 GHz), which recently featured on Userbenchmark with a score of 97% on the UB benchmark index.

Thus, the rest of the specifications remain fairly even with the original model, repeating with a main screen of 15.6-inch IPS panel with 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution, an impressive 300 Hz refresh rate, 3 ms response time, reproduces 100% of the sRGB color spectrum, is Pantone and G-SYNC validated. We can configure it with an (optional) IPS screen with 4K resolution that maintains all the values of the previous one, although it reduces the refresh rate to 60 Hz.
In addition to this, and being undoubtedly one of the greatest attractions of this laptop, we find ourselves its secondary screen of 14.1 inches, with another IPS panel with a touch interface and a resolution of 3,840 x 1,100 pixels. A screen that we can customize to take advantage of certain games, applications or professional tools in a special way. However, it does not cease to surprise us that ASUS continues to maintain the compatibility of these functions as its own task, greatly limiting its options.
With an availability date still unknown, although undoubtedly imminent, unfortunately we still do not know the price of the new Zephyrus 15 Duo SE equipped with the Ryzen 9 5980HX, still appearing out of stock on this website, and completely invisible on the official ASUS website. Although considering the current prices of the same, one would expect a figure above 4,699 euros.
