Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was announced, some time ago, as the return of Ubisoft to the beloved saga. However, various delays have meant that the return of the action franchise is postponed to 2022.

However, there may be good news for fans, beyond this remake, and that is that the developer would be producing another game in the series at the same time, according to a new rumor.

This information comes from a user who has already starred in other rumors and news. Shpeshal_Ed was passing through the XboxEra channel (via GamePro) to launch this new pearl that would make quite a few happy.

A Prince of Persia in 2D would be developing alongside the already announced remake. Unlike this title, the new proposal would be based on the first games in the series: Prince of Persia and Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame.

Both works were the origin of the saga and were released ten years before the remembered Las Arenas del Tiempo. Apart from this information, the insider shared on Twitter that Jordan Mechner, a veteran of the franchise, was related to this development.

However, this source held that he did not know the status of the project and added that he does not know the nature of this (remake, remastering or completely new game) while warning that Ubisoft could cancel the project without it being revealed.

Therefore, like all good rumors, it will be better to take it for what it is and wait for official information. For the moment, it will be time to wait for the premiere of Prince of Persia Las Arenas del Tiempo Remake with confirmed versions for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

We recall that the game was criticized for its graphic appearance at the time of its reveal. For now, the two delays could have improved this section.
