Far Cry 6, the long-awaited new installment in the Ubisoft saga, will hit stores Coming October 7, available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PC and Stadia. This sixth installment will take us to Yara, a fictional region that has its own inspirations, details and characters.

Through a small video uploaded by the official Far Cry 6 account, the narrative director Navid khavari Explain how they came up with the Yara region, and what inspirations they took to create this new region. As you already know, this sixth game is about the liberation of a people against the dictatorship.

The open world of Far Cry 6 will be the most extensive and richest of the entire franchiseSince Yara hides numerous NPCs, mercenaries to recruit, animals that will help us, and of course lots of playable possibilities. Khavari explains what it was his main inspiration to develop this scenario.

As you might expect, Yara Island is based on Cuba and their historical political struggle, although the narrative director of Far Cry 6 reveals a few more details. The development team had to perform an exhaustive investigation on the history of Cuba, in order to accurately reflect what they wanted in the fictional Yara region.

A very interesting point is that Yara is found ”frozen in time”. We will have different gadgets and technology, but in Far Cry 6 it will be vital to take advantage of natural elements and objects that we find in the environment. Khavari explains that players will feel isolated at Yara, which is the main objective of setting the game in this scenario.

Of course, in Yara we will not only have to fight and liberate the people from the dictatorship of Antón Castillo (played by actor Giancarlo Exposito). The island will be full of details, activities to do, and above all the life of its inhabitants, which will make us feel part of the playable experience in Far Cry 6.

Far Cry 6 is coming to stores next October 7, available for new consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, plus on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Google Stadia. In the coming months we will know more details of this sixth installment, which will feature a season pass with 3 fully playable villains from the saga.
