The witcher is one of Netflix’s flagship series, even though it has only had one season so far. The Geralt of Rivia saga was especially popularized by the CD Projekt RED video games (and above all, by the best-seller The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt). The Netflix series did not adapt the video game, but the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski, but the aesthetic similarities between the two were very evident.
For that reason, and knowing that for fans both worlds are indistinguishable, Netflix and CD Projekt have decided to join forces by announcing a “Witchercon”. They have announced it as the culmination of Geeked Week, where they have announced many other animation series based on video games.
The Witchercon will be an epic online celebration of the franchise, according to the official Witcher Game tweet. We know this will be a celebratory event, but … could we expect any news from CD Projekt RED? Of course, the Polish company is dedicating a lot of resources to Cyberpunk 2077 (which will also have anime series on Netflix, by the way), so it is early to think about the future of The Witcher series … But it is certain that there will be more The Witcher games.
