Nobody misses that we are in the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, Although Nintendo has not yet ruled on it … beyond confirming The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD for this July. The Nintendo Direct presentation of E3 2021 will take place next week, and it is logical to assume that Zelda will have a presence at the show.
Yesterday, the youtuber Spawn wave said he had been hearing things about kind of an event at GameStop next week, which could be related to Zelda. Well-known journalist Jeff Grubb shared the tweet and said that he had been hearing things too, and apparently, GameStop hopes a wave of users on June 15, the day of Nintendo Direct.
I’ve heard some similar rumblings. GameStops are expecting to get more next-gen console supplies in after E3 and that’s part of it, but they’re also expecting a rush on June 15, the day of the Nintendo presser. DMs are open if you know more. https://t.co/xPdHE2kqvy

Today, Spawn Wave has explained it in a new video. Nintendo has prepared new units of Nintendo Switch to put on sale on the day of Nintendo Direct, and apparently, everyone who takes the console a poster of Zelda will also be taken. But it will not be the only company that will put new units of the console to take advantage of the pull of E3: too there will be new Xbox Series X / S units (whose conference, Microsoft’s, is on Sunday the 13th).
Images of the poster appeared online, showing a link art, in his classic Ocarina of Time pose (although we’d swear it’s a new render with a lot more detail). Behind him, images of all their games (Wind Waker, Ocarina, Majora’s, Twilight Princess, Breath of the Wild …) in a design very, very similar to the one they used with the 30th anniversary arts in 2016. No images of Breath of the Wild 2 on the poster, or anything that is not already known.
Apparently GameStop has received these posters. Starting to think we might get some 35th Anniversary news for Zelda during the Direct if this is legit. pic.twitter.com/Ty7P30Jq6U

Finally, there is another clue (via Resetera) that points to this event in GameStop (remember that it is a North American chain). According to a calendar given to the workers, June 15 and 16 are marked as “Special Event”, with plans for a greater reinforcement in stores, something that only gets on the days that there are very special launches and a new stock of highly demanded consoles.
GameStop’s exact plans are unknown, and of course Nintendo’s plans at E3 are unknown, but it stands to reason that Zelda will have a special presence. Even if Breath of the Wild 2 was not shown, the much-rumored Switch versions of Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, along with a compilation of the classic Zeldas in the style of Super Mario 3D All-Stars, could take up much of the Nintendo catalog. this year.
However, if this information is true, it appears that GameStop prepares for very intense demand on June 15-16, which in addition to coinciding with Nintendo Direct day and the day after, includes the presence of a special commemorative poster of the Zelda saga as part of its promotion. When the river sounds…
