Like every week, Famitsu has revealed top 10 best-selling games in Japan… and the truth is that things continue as usual. Last week Biomutant got a creditable second place, but in just one week it has disappeared from the top 10. Miitopia, the exclusive one for Nintendo Switch, tops a ranking that is increasingly turning red for Nintendo.
In the first place of the top, we find Miitopia, the fun and original RPG of the Big N for Switch, which has managed to place 25,647 copies during the week. It narrowly beats the second title on the list, Monster Hunter Rise, which is close to that number with 19,583 games sold during the past week. The podium is completed by Ring Fit Adventure, perfect for getting in shape for the summer.
The most striking thing about this week’s top 10 is that 9 of the top 10 are held by Nintendo Switch titles, and the only one that is not available in the hybrid console is already an old acquaintance of these lists. Minecraft (in its Switch version) and Momotaro Dentetsu occupy the fourth and fifth place respectively, with more than 11,000 copies sold each … although far from Ring Fit Adventure.
As sixth and seventh in the top 10, we have two other Switch exclusives: Super Mario 3D World Bowser’s Fury and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, with nearly 10,000 games sold each, showing that the Japanese plumber fever is far from over. Also noteworthy is the eighth position of Super Smash Bros Ultimate, the Nintendo Switch exclusive fighting title, which fails to reach the 10,000 mark.
Closing the ranking in Japan we have another exclusive for Nintendo Switch, the work of Marvelous, Rune Factory 5 … and it is followed, as last on the list, Resident Evil Village. Capcom’s title already exceeds the 4 million games sold all over the world, and in Japan it has achieved place almost 180,000 copies on your PS4 version (the most sold). It is the only PlayStation game in the top 10.
When it comes to hardware, things remain the same as in previous weeks. Nintendo Switch is still the best-selling console, with 74,204 units sold of its normal model and 23,004 units placed of its Lite model. As a second, we have the model with a Playstation 5, which continues to consolidate over its predecessor PS4, with 16,302 units sold.
The digital model of PS5 does not have the same success far from it, since has only managed to sell 2028 consoles during the past week … less than PS4, which registers 2,725 units sold. Follow them Xbox Series X, which with its 346 consoles sold he does manage to beat 2DS, with five units less on his scoreboard. The last console on the list is Xbox Series S, which has sold 284 units.
