He-man came back! Netflix has released today the first trailer for Masters of the Universe: Revelation, a new 2D animation series that takes up the witness of the original series of the 80s, although with a much more modern and fierce aspect. It is an animated series focused on a more adult audience, similar to the Netflix reboot of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

Masters of the Revelation Universe has been produced by Kevin smith (Clerks, Jay & Silent Bob), and made by Powerhouse Animation Studios (who made another Netflix series, Blood of Zeus). Its 10 chapters can be seen on Netflix July 23, and will pick up the story after the end of the original series, after the battle between He-Man and Skeletor and the destruction of Eternia.

As incredible as it may seem, this will not be the only Masters of the Universe series that we will see on Netflix in the near future. There is also a development CGI animation series, entitled He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, aimed at a more familiar audience.

Masters of the Revelation University will have a vibrant and colorful style that can conquer even those who only know He-Man of memes. Plus, it will have a star-studded cast, with Chris Wood as Prince Adam / He-Man, Mark Hammil as Skeletor, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Liam Cunningham as Man-At-Arms, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Kevin Conroy as Mer-Man …

This explosion of popularity of He-Man, almost 40 years later, also expands to Mattel toys (which was also the origin of the 80s series), with a new line of Masters of the Universe Origins figures, which Uncle Bruno shows you in detail in these videos. In addition, a new live action movie is still in the works, although It will no longer be Noah Centineo who stars in it
