Evil Dead (Infernal Possession in Spain in his first film), became a cult classic that gave us characters like Ash, from Bruce campbell, one of those characters who have given a lot of play. Over the decades, the franchise created by Sam raimi (Spider-Man) has managed to stay fresh, especially after the 2013 remake directed by Fede Alvarez, a film that was followed by the series Ash vs. Evil Dead.
Now, Evil Dead Rise is the new film in the franchise, which will go directly to HBO Max and which is executive produced and stamp of approval by Sam Raimi (who is currently immersed in filming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) and Bruce Campbell.
In fact, Campbell was initially very determined not to return as Ash in Evil Dead Rise, after learning that the film would go directly to HBO Max, but we know that it is difficult for him to resist a cameo as his iconic character, so we did not rule it out entirely.
The filming of Evil Dead Rise has already begun, and its director, Lee Cronin (Cursed Forest) wanted to celebrate with a photo of the clapperboard from the first scene that has been filmed, a classic in these cases. Cronin has a draw in directing horror movies, at least when it comes to short films. Cursed Forest is his only feature film, but with the supervision of Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell on the project, the result can be very interesting.
