It’s always hard to say goodbye to great workers, and that also translates to the video game industry. Call of Duty fans are sure to know well Taylor Kurosaki and Jacob Minkoff, two developers who joined Infinity Ward in 2014, coming from nothing more and nothing less than Naughty Dog.

Since 2014 they have worked hard on the Call of Duty installments developed by Infinity Ward, including the recent Modern Warfare (2019). Now, with Activision thinking about the next Call of Duty 2021 and the success of Warzone waving, they arrive times of change for the company … and time to say goodbye.

Taylor Kurosaki and Jacob Minkoff have announced on their social networks, almost in parallel, that they are leaving Infinity Ward after 7 long years of hard work. Both came from Naughty Dog to give their personal touch to a legendary franchise, their first project being Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, released in 2014 for PC and consoles.

At the beginning of this year, we decided to leave Infinity Ward in search of a rare and exciting new opportunity” says one of them on his Twitter account. The most striking thing is that both go together to a new studio, which we still do not know. They are not known either the reasons for this abandonment, although everything indicates that they could be creative differences with the team.

Kurosaki was the narrative director of Infinity Ward, in charge of giving his personal touch to the stories of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty Modern Warfare. He was responsible for bringing the single-player campaigns to life for both titles, while Minkoff held the position of director of design of the company.

The fate of Kurosaki and Minkoff, who will seek their luck within the video game industry and thus continue betting on their creativity to shape new projects. One of the most influential points of both developers was the tone that they wanted to give Call of Duty games, which has always been characterized by the epicity of its campaigns.

The future of Call of Duty continues, though without these two great creatives. Activision already prepares the return of the franchise by the end of this 2021, while Call of Duty Warzone continues to sweep month after month on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
