What kind of creature is Yoda? Perhaps we will end up discovering more about the origin of their race one day thanks to Grogu on The Mandalorian, but for now we can only ask ourselves: is it a frog? Is it a bat? Is it a plane? … or is it a ninja turtle !?

Sure that’s what they thought of Playmates when they made a concept in the crazy 90s of a toy that fused the best of both worlds, the world of Star wars and the world of Ninja Turtles.

In his day the toys of Star wars made them Kenner Products and they were having a lot of success, -unlike those of the ninja turtles who have always been behind the space franchise-, but when their license expired there was Playmates to get it with a bag of interesting ideas. Spoiler: goes wrong.

The only thing left of that failed attempt were the conceptual designs of this magnificent crossover that never saw the light designed by Michael dooney So what Alan Johnson of Warner Bros shared on Twitter.

Here we leave you with a gallery that collects all these designs, They have no waste!

In one of the images we have Leonardo being a Luke Skywalker who wields a laser katana and that is accompanied by Yoda and for a R2D2 a little damaged, in another we see Michelangelo being Chewbacca and leading to C3P0 in arms and with a comb for ammunition of a crossbow made with nunchucks, in another is Shredder with the finery of Dath Vader and with Krang clinging to his leg, and lastly Leia organa with his hairstyle of ensaimadas but also with clothes that have the pattern of turtle shells.

Because who would want boring common figures like Anakin and Obi-Wan from Hot Toys being able to have figures of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Star Wars in one pack?
