When Scarlet Witch and Vision came to an end in early March, many of the theories that fans had formulated around the series were left unfulfilled, including the presence of the Doctor Strange, a rumor that seemed almost sung, but that finally came to nothing. The series has received many alternate versions from fans, including one we shared today that compiled many of these theories and rumors.
Rolling Stone magazine had an interview with Kevin Feige, President of Marvel studios, where one of the most notorious rumors of Scarlet Witch and Vision has been spoken, precisely the presence of Benedict Cumberbatch like Doctor Strange.
Feige has confirmed that indeed, Doctor Strange was going to appear in the series, and even that Cumberbatch signed to appear in the final episode of Scarlet Witch and Vision after having presented all the commercials that can be seen in the series, but finally they chose to cut their presence.
The explanation given by the president of Marvel Studios is that an appearance of Doctor Strange in the series would have undermined the title role of Wanda, diverting the attention that the character required. They finally chose to give it another approach. “We didn’t want the ending to feel just like the introduction of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” While it is true that the presence of Doctor Strange would have been justified seeing Wanda’s magical deployment in Scarlet Witch and Vision, we understand that it was decided not to have him so as not to undermine the objective of the Marvel series of giving prominence to characters who do not they have had it in the movies.
