Lady Dimitrescu is on its way to occupying the cover of TIME’s Person of the Year, and we haven’t even seen it for more than a few seconds in the trailers for Resident Evil Village. Fans were quick to notice her, all her, creating memes and fanarts and cosplays from the star villain of the new Capcom game.
However, one aspect of Dimitrescu that you have probably overlooked is his name … or the pronunciation of his name. At dawn on Friday, during the Resident Evil Showcase, presenter Brittney Brombacher called out Dimitricus’ name … and did not say it as you would probably imagine, but with a distinctly American pronunciation, “di-mi-treesk”.

Is this the correct way to pronounce Dimitrescu? According to the presenter, specifically asked Capcom how to pronounce your name, and they approved the shot you just saw, “di-mi-trees”, so is this the official way to pronounce it, according to Capcom?
Many users on Twitter, in response to your tweet, they emphatically affirm that. Resident Evil Village is set in Romania, and according to the Romanian pronunciation (you can hear it in Forvo or in the same google translate), the pronunciation is syllable by syllable, say-my-three-cu.
Until we have the game and we hear the name of Dimitrescu from the mouths of the characters we will not leave doubts. The game comes out on May 7, but we may not have to wait that long, because from this Sunday 18th we will already have a first Resident Evil Village demo.
Resident Evil Village is coming out on PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. Yesterday’s presentation left many other news, such as that the mode returns The Mercenaries or the resolution and fps of Resident Evil Village.
We also had a new trailer for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, the Netflix series, and it was announced Resident Evil 4 VR for Oculus Quest.
