Nintendo Switch and its games continue to sweep around the world. Today we have known the sales data in USA during the month of March 2021, and Nintendo Switch is (for 28 consecutive months) the best-selling console in that country in terms of units, despite the arreón that is having PlayStation 5, which is already the fastest-selling console in the country’s history during its first four months.
A good fault for that is the popularity of their games, many of which are fixed in the top 20 of every month despite having been on the market for years: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Zelda Bresth of the Wild, Super Mario Party…
Precisely, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was the sixth best-selling game this March in the United States (it was ninth last month). Although the number of units sold is unknown, according to NPD Groud, Mmario Kart 8 already is the best-selling racing game in history in the United States.

MK8 sold 8.45 million copies on Wii U, notable sales for a console park of 13.5 million, but ridiculous compared to the 33.41 million version of Switch. And on top of that, the MK8 Deluxe sales pace is positive in some regions (in the UK it has sold more with each passing year).

Thing is, it’s especially ironic when you consider that when it came out on Wii U, it looked like it was going to be one of the worst sellers …
