There is nothing left to enjoy in the cinemas of Mortal Kombat, the new movie based on the popular fighting video game saga which promises to be quite faithful to the games, not only because of what is seen in its trailer, but also because of the first reactions shown, where the press especially praises the fidelity of the Mortal Kombat movie to video games.
This is something that will be appreciated especially in fatalities, a classic of video games, in which violence and gore will not be spared when it comes to showing the most brutal final blows. Such is so Lewis tan, one of the actors in the film, admitted to having a really bad time with one of them.
In a recent interview for Variety, the actor commented that the Mortal Kombat movie It will show fatalities as graphic as those we have seen in the series of games and it recalled one of the most unpleasant moments that he lived during filming.
“Yeah, they’re pretty scary. I walked on set one day and didn’t know what was going on, and I accidentally walked into a post-fatality set and felt pretty sick to my stomach. I was like, ‘What the hell is this? What happened here?’ It looked like someone destroyed a buffet line, but there was no food, “he said. “That was a sure thing the principal was adamant on. He said, ‘This is going to be a tough R rating. I try not to make it NC-17, but we’re going to take it to that point.’ And that’s what we did”.
It certainly seems that the film will satisfy the most ardent fans of video games. Fortunately, you will not have to wait long to check it, because The Mortal Kombat movie will be released in theaters in Spain this Friday, April 16, 2021, a week earlier than in the United States.
