The legacy of Rocky Balboa continued present in the creed saga, spin-off films from the franchise starring Sylvester Stallone in which the actor recovered the role of the Italian Colt to act as coach of Adonis creed, the son of Apollo Creed, for which Stallone received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 2015.
Although in each of the two films released they closed the story of Rocky Balboa very well, what is narrated in Creed II will finally mean the final outcome of one of the most iconic characters in cinema, since Sylvester Stallone will not be present in Creed iii, the new installment of the saga.
As collected The Hollywood Reporter, Stallone’s representative has confirmed that the actor will not participate in the Creed III movie, being the first film in the saga that will not have the presence of the interpreter. However, in 2018 Stallone already made a farewell to his character through his Instagram account during the launch of Creed II, so it was very unlikely that we would see him again in the new film even if it was only in a mere cameo .
“I just want to thank everyone around the world for carrying the Rocky family in their hearts for more than 40 years. It has been my greatest privilege to have been able to create and play this significant character,” Stallone said in his day saying goodbye to Rocky Balboa.
Who will continue in the franchise, logically, is Michael B. Jordan (A matter of justice, No remorse, Black Panther) playing the protagonist of the Creed saga, also acting as director of the film. The actresses will also return with him Tessa thompson (Sylvie’s Love, Thor: Amor y Trueno, Men in Black International) and Phylicia rashad (Dark boxes, Black Panther, Treason).
The film Creed III will be released in theaters on November 23, 2022. Will you miss Sylvester Stallone in the series?
