The Walking Dead fans will know that the series based on the comics of the same name by Robert Kirkman has been broadcasting its chapters on the AMC network for ten years since 2010, but as much as you have not missed a single one of them, knowing the internal chronology of the series itself and the year it is in right now, is much more complicated.
However, thanks to last chapter of season 10 of The Walking Dead, “Here’s Negan” and following the chronology of this character through the series, it can be estimated, more or less in what year the current events of the AMC series are happening that will end with its 11th season.
As can be seen in the flashback chapter, which serves to learn a little more about the history of this character as hated as he is loved, the zombie pandemic started in 2010, exactly like the series. Two years later is when Rick Grimes ends the War of the Saviors in season 8, after this there is a time jump between the end of season 8 and the beginning of season 9, of about 18 months.
In season 9 after Rick disappears after the explosion of the bridge, the series advances six years into the future and then several months until Alpha attacks our protagonists starting with the war with the Whisperers. And finally, when Carol decides to release Negan in season 10 we add another 9 months, lor what do you suppose The walking dead is currently in the year 2022 and that the last episode of the additional chapters of season 10 of the series makes a 12-year flashback to Negan’s past.
