Ninja Gaiden Master Collection was going to include the remakes of the 3 games, but it was scrapped due to lack of time

Ninja Gaiden is one of the most beloved sagas in video games, with a trilogy of high-quality games that we fell in love with in the 2000s, as well as the classics. The next June 10th Ninja Gaiden Master Collection, a compilation for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC goes on sale.

Announced in the past Nintendo Direct, this collection includes the Sigma versions of Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden II and the latest installment, Ninja Gaiden III: Razor’s Edge, due to the impossibility of get the codes of the two original titles (which came out on Xbox and Xbox 360).

The Director of Team Ninja, Fumihiko yasudan, has talked about the Ninja Gaiden saga, his initial plans with Master Collection and also about the possibility that the compilation also comes out on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, although it can be played on these consoles through backward compatibility.

To start with, Yasudan rules out the option to launch Ninja Gaiden Master Collection on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S as native versions, since he thinks that for this it would be necessary to develop remakes of the three games, to show a greater technical quality. And there is news on this topic …

Team ninja affirms that, initially, the intentions were to develop Complete remakes of all three Ninja Gaiden games, and launch them on next-gen consoles. However, they wanted to get the collection to users as soon as possible, and this decision was time consuming.

There are currently no plans for a next-gen edition. For a proper next-gen version, a full remake would actually be required. We considered it, but we also wanted the games to be in the hands of the players sooner rather than later.. Also, if we had the time and resources for a remake, we would think that it would be a better opportunity to create a new game, that’s why we decided to go with this collection right now

These statements by Yasudan also suggest that there will be a new installment of Ninja Gaiden, which this time will focus on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, although it is not confirmed. Ninja Gaiden Master Collection is a smooth remastering of the trilogy, though with the absence of multiplayer modes.

Ninja Gaiden Master Collection coming out next June 10th in PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, although in Europe and America it will be an exclusively digital title, judging by leaks from a store.
