HBO's The Last of Us to be shot between July 2021 and June 2022

We already know when the HBO series of The Last of Us will begin shooting … and also when it will finish shooting. The local Canadian media CBC confirms that the video game adaptation to television will be shot in the Calgary area (Alberta, Canada) between July 5, 2021 and June 8, 2022.

As reported by the outlet, Alberta Prime Minister Jason Kenney, during a live broadcast this week, stated that it will be “the largest film or television production ever made in Canada“.

That the filming is scheduled to last 11 months is certainly not usual, which can give us an idea of the magnitude of the project, which will direct Craig mazin (Chernobyl).

Of course, it is likely that there will be breaks in between, perhaps due to contracts already signed by the actors. Let’s not forget that Joel will be played by Pedro Pascal, one of the most prolific actors of the moment. Pascal has yet to shoot the third season of The Mandalorian, although according to leaks, the filming of the Star Wars series would take place earlier (in fact, this April).

Along with Pedro Pascal will be Bella Ramsey as Ellie, a young actress who, like Pascal, rose to fame for her role in Game of Thrones (another HBO series), although they never coincided. Possibly, in the coming months we will know who else will join the cast of The Last of Us, which will adapt and expand the story of the first video game, from 2013.

Possibly, The Last of Us series will air in the second half of 2022. Much earlier we will see the Uncharted movie, which after a thousand and one delays has set its premiere on February 18, 2022. And in the future we will also have a movie about Ghost of Tsushima …
