Summer is approaching and with it the major video game fairs are gearing up to announce loads of new games and surprises from development studios. However the Tokyo Game Show 2021 has remained canceled in person… although there will be an online event to replace it.
This does not take us by surprise, since yesterday we told you that PAX East 2021 would also become an online event, and the same will happen with E3 2021. Initially, the Tokyo Game Show 2021 was going to be held in person at the Makuhari Messe, in Chiba (Japan), but finally said event has been canceled.
Instead, the event organizers have announced that there will be a digital event called Tokyo Game Show Online 2021, to be held from September 30 to October 3, following the line seen at last year’s gala. Since the COVID pandemic began, many events have had to switch to this new digital format.
In addition, this video game fair is in celebration in 2021. The Tokyo Game Show turns 25, since the first edition was held in 1996. On the occasion of this anniversary, its organizers promise an impressive gala that will last for several days, under the motto ”We will always have games”
As the second digital event in the history of the Tokyo Game Show, this 2021 online edition will be an evolution of what was seen in last year’s edition. Its organizers claim that there will be many game demos, online stores with exclusive items, raffles, and of course, there will be a physical stage where the interviews and statements for the press will take place.
The Tokyo Game Show Online 2021 can be followed live through live broadcasts from YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, and other Japanese media like Niconico or Douyu, between many more.
The world of video games prepares for the big announcements of the Tokyo Game Show 2021, now known as Tokyo Game Show Online, that will amaze the world from the next September 30, and until October 3.
