Continues the broadcast of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the second series of Marvel studios for Disney +. The series starring Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes is having a good reception, and even for now it is enjoying a better debut than Scarlet Witch and Vision or even The Mandalorian.
Be careful, from here we talk about spoilers for the second chapter of Falcon and the Winter Soldier!
This second episode has brought Sam and Bucky together as the two try to accept that there is a new Captain America in the world. The two begin to investigate a new armed group that seem to have Super Soldier powers, so after several incidents (couples therapy included), they decide to turn to an old acquaintance to get more information about their new opponents.
At the end of the episode we finished with a teaser for the introduction of Helmut Zemo, who was already played by Daniel Brühl in Captain America: Civil War. After the events of the movie, Zemo is serving time and we can see him in his cell through a video file. A small reference to Star wars that only the fastest fans have been able to capture.
In this shot you can see Zemo in the cell 2187… the same cell number where Princess Leia was imprisoned on the Death Star in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It’s an easy Easter egg to overlook, but seeing as there have already been some other pop culture references and Marvel Studios are self-confessed Star Wars fans, it’s no wonder they’ve sneaked a little tribute when they saw the opportunity. .
And you, did you notice this reference to Star Wars in the second chapter of Falcon and the Winter Soldier?
