George RR Martin signs a millionaire agreement to develop new series for HBO Max

If you are one of those who still hope that one day Winds of Winter will be put on sale to be able to end the saga of the novels of A Song of Ice and Fire, we have bad news for you: its writer George RR Martin is, right now, on other things.

This is how he has revealed it The Hollywood Reporter in an article in which he assures that George RR Martin has reached a millionaire agreement with the HBO Max platform to develop new series for your streaming service. Although the official figure of the agreement has not been revealed, the publication assures that it exceeds eight figures, that is, it exceeds one million dollars.

In the series to be developed, Martin would serve as executive producer, just as he is doing with the adaptation of the novel Who’s Afraid of Death from Oscar winner Nnedi Okorafor, about a post-apocalyptic future, which is going to become one of the next content to be released on the HBO Max platform.

In theory, This new contract is parallel to the one that Martin has already signed with the platform to develop different spin-offs and prequels of Game of Thrones that are already in development, but these are not the only projects in which the writer is currently involved, as he also has agreements with other networks and producers.

For Peacock he is developing a series based on his novels about the Wild Cards sagaWhile he is also working on a film that will adapt Lost Lands, the short fantasy and adventure stories written by Martin that will lead to the cinema Paul WS Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich and Dave Bautista, among others.

Once again, the Winds of Winter will have to wait.
