Birds of Prey becomes Rotten Tomatoes' highest-rated comic book movie

Although 2020 did not let us enjoy cinema too much, especially in the one that premiered in large viewing rooms, before house confinements were imposed, Birds of Prey managed to reach the big screens around the world, becoming one of the few superhero movies to be released this year.

And although we do not know if the fact of having been able to see it in theaters has benefited him in any way, the truth is that the film directed by Cathy Yan and starring Margot Robbie, has become the Movie based on a comic with the best Rotten Tomatoes score of 2020.

The ranking, which has been established by making an average between the scores of the critics and the audience, is led by Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn), followed by The Old Guard, the Netflix film starring Charlize Theron, and Wonder Woman 1984 that closes the top 3, despite the fact that the critical scores did not get him a “fresh tomato.”

In the last places in the top 5 we find the film produced by the Russo brothers and starring Chris Hermsworth, Tyler Rake, followed by The New Mutants, the battered X-Men movie that finally premiered on Disney + and failed to win either the favor of the specialized critics or the public.

But without a doubt, the most striking thing about this list is that for the first time in more than a decade, there is not a single movie starring Marvel superheroes, and is that last year Disney preferred to save his films for when they can be seen on the big screen.
