Of the 30 best-selling games in Japan last week, there is only one that is not for Nintendo Switch

One more week, Nintendo monopolizes the sales of consoles and video games in Japan. In the week between March 15 and 21, there has only been one PlayStation 4 game (or any other console other than Switch) in the top 30. And it’s none of the ones you might expect, like Spider-Man or Call of Duty or Assassin’s Creed, but Maglam lord, a JRPG, in 24th place (and whose version for Nintendo Switch is in 16th place).

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury topped the list, as usual, and has already exceeded half a million units. However, there have been three new entries in the top 10: Densha from GO !! Hashirou Yamanote Sen, Jake Jeanne. Better known is Apex Legends Champion Edition, which debuts at number 7, despite being also available for free on the eShop.

The good news is that PlayStation 5 sales are picking up: Switch sold 89,104 units, and PS5 34,657 units. The problem is the lack of new games for PS5, especially Japanese taste. Next week, with the launch of Monster Hunter Rise on Switch, that difference between consoles can multiply …
