The plot of Cry Macho places us in 1978 and tells the story of a retired rodeo star who accepts a commission from one of his former bosses to bring his son home to separate him from his alcoholic mother. As they cross rural Mexico on their way to Texas, the couple will face a more complicated journey than expected as the former rodeo star discovers his own form of redemption and the boy learns what it means to be a good man.
