MSI updates its desktop PC lineup with the latest Intel CPUs

PCs de MSI

MSI has announced the update of its line of desktop personal computers It includes five different models and includes Intel Rocket Lake-S processors as a star component.

We will have the opportunity to evaluate the new Intel CPUs because we will offer you a complete analysis of the platform, but to begin with, the chip giant promises a CPI performance increase (instructions per clock cycle) of 19% over current Comet Lake-S, models with up to 8 cores and 16 threads of native processing and working frequencies up to 5.3 GHz.

Also new are the new integrated GPUs Intel Xe Gen12which offer up to 50% more performance, although we believe that they will be little used considering that the gaming equipment they are aimed at will include dedicated graphics from NVIDIA and AMD. There is no shortage of the latest connectivity elements with Wi-Fi 6, Thunderbolt 4.0 or PCI e 4.0.

MSI PCs with Intel Rocket Lake-S

The sales of new OEM desktops are not going through their best moment and have plummeted in recent years in the face of the rise of laptops. Of course there is still demand and gaming equipment is a good segment from which to push them. MSI has ‘opened the fire’, but surely all the big manufacturers will update their equipment with these processors.

The Taiwanese manufacturer includes the compacts Trident X and Trident AS with a Core i9-11900K and a Core i7-11700F, respectively; the Infinite RS which also uses the Core i9-11900K; the Codex R with up to a Core i7-11700; and the Aegis RS, Aegis R and Aegis SE, with Core i9-11900K, Core i7-11700 and Core i5-11400F processors, respectively.

All offer dedicated graphics cards of the series NVIDIA RTX 3000, with maximum settings that vary by model. The curiosity of the series we see in a GeForce RTX 3050 in the basic model Aegis SE. A graphics card that has not yet been announced.

All computers include solid state drives connected to PCIe Gen 4.0 and plenty of RAM memory capacities. MSI’s new PCs with Intel Rocket Lake-S will be available in the coming weeks with base prices starting at:

  • Trident X: $ 2,099.
  • Trident AS: $ 1,699.
  • Infinite RS: $ 2,649.
  • Codex R: $ 1,349
  • Aegis RS: $ 1,999.
  • Aegis SE: to be announced later.
