The Square Enix Presents event has left us new information about Outriders, Marvel’s Avengers and Life is Strange: True Colors, but at the end of the broadcast it has gone out of the planned script to leave us more information about Forspoken… formerly known as Project Athia.
This new IP from Square Enix and Luminous Productions was announced in 2020, at the event of PlayStation 5 presentation. And it was one of the most shocking, to the point that many thought it was the codename of Final Fantasy XVI (which soon became clear that it was not).
Now we know its official name, Forspoken, as well as some extra plot details, and its expected release date: 2022, on PS5 and PC. Ella Balinska (actress of the last film of Charlie’s Angels) has unveiled the new trailer. Balinska will play the protagonist Frey Holland, a young woman trapped in a beautiful but threatening world.
We do not know anything about the story, but judging by the new scene revealed, it seems that Frey is an ordinary young woman (and by how she is dressed, from our world) who ends up trapped in this fantasy world full of dragons. Of course, you will end up with powers that allow you to face all creatures, and travel the countryside in a mixture of parkour “hypervitaminado” that will make the most of the new generation.
What do you think of the final title of Project Athia and what it looks like? Curiously, the name of Forspoken has already been sounding for months … It remains to be seen, however, if the exclusivity with PS5 is temporary, as it seems that it will also happen with Final Fantasy XVI …
