Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, the last of this Japanese saga of tactical role, already has a date in the West: will be released on June 29, exclusively for Nintendo Switch. Sohei Niikawa, President of Nippon Ichi Software, announced it at the presentation New Game Plus Expo 2, focused on Japanese games.
Niikawa thanked fans outside of Japan their interest in the Disgaea saga, because when they made the first one, in 2003, they did not think that the series would gain followers outside of Japan, which has allowed all the games in the series to reach North America, Europe and Oceania, with relative little delay (Disgaea 6 came out in Japan in late January 2021).
Disgaea 6 follows the story of Zed, a boastful zombie who lives with his sister Bieko in the underworld. But he will soon be forced to come back to life when a God of Destruction threatens the world, leading to a dark and poignant story full of quirky characters.
It develops through strategic combat, which will introduce many new functions and in general will be more accessible for new players (replays, retry battles, automatic play …).
In addition, the version that will come to us (with texts in English and French, and voices in English and Japanese) will bring as additional content four characters from the previous installments, each with their story: Adell, Rozalin, Girl Laharl and Asagi.
Nintendo Switch Pro will have 4K resolution output, OLED screen and will arrive at the end of 2021, according to reports
NIS America will release Disgaea 6 Defiance of Destiny in Europe via Bandai Namco, exclusive to Nintendo Switch, the June 29, 2021. The New Game Plus Expo presentation also announced a Japanese cult game from Suda51 for the Switch, The Silver Case 2425.
