Vivaldi 3.5 for Android improves privacy and management of bookmarks and notes

Vivaldi 3.5

After more than a year in beta, Vivaldi for Android It reached its stable version in the middle of this year and since then its development has continued apace, aligning itself with the PC version as it is extracted by its numbering. In fact, they are usually launched almost in unison, but this has not happened this time.

Vivaldi 3.5 for Android

Waiting for Vivaldi 3.5 to land on PC, Vivaldi 3.5 for Android It is now available and comes with several new features that are worth commenting, both in terms of privacy and functionality.

Starting with the first ones, Vivaldi 3.5 for Android has added the option to delete browsing data automatically when logging out, with the possibility to choose which data is deleted and which is not: history, cookies and site information, cached images and files and open tabs; just some, all or none.

Until now it could be done manually, but there is no doubt that doing it this way is much more comfortable for the user. By default this option is deactivated, but it can be activated in “Settings> Privacy> Clear browsing data”. “If you decide to activate it, you will notice an improvement in RAM consumption and browsing speed and, in addition, you will reinforce your privacy,” they point out from Vivaldi.

Of course, it must be borne in mind that this option is not of much use if the browser’s data synchronization is activated, and on the other hand, if you are looking for the highest possible level of privacy, it is worth using the browsing mode directly private (open a private tab).

Another novelty of Vivaldi 3.5 for Android is the option to disable IP streaming via WebRTC, a communications protocol used by videoconferencing services and others that is usually activated for usability, but especially on mobile, where dedicated applications are generally used, does not make much sense. To deactivate it, go to “Settings> Privacy” and uncheck the box “Transmit the IP to improve WebRTC performance”.

In the area of functionality, Vivaldi 3.5 for Android adds the option to sort bookmarks and notes: the first by title, address, description and nickname and the second by title, creation date and content type. Or you can sort everything manually, by clicking and dragging.

So far the news of Vivaldi 3.5 for Android, which are not many, but welcome. They are having a full sea browser. Now to wait for Vivaldi 3.5 for PC, which should not take long to appear, although the truly powerful will arrive from next year: email manager, calendar and more, according to what the company presented last week.
