Galaxy S21

The Galaxy S21 has become one of the most anticipated top-of-the-range smartphones of the moment, although it is also one of those that has raised the most doubts, not only for everything related to its possible external design and its quality of finishes, but also for all the questions that have remained in the air after the first leaks of the SoC Exynos 2100, a chip that could be more powerful than the Snapdragon 875, at least at the CPU level.

We do not have new information about the specifications of this terminal at the hardware level, but thanks to a series of renders that have appeared recently, yes we have been able to take a more in-depth look at the possible design of the Galaxy S21, and the truth is that I find it very interesting, and also very particular.

On the front we do not see relevant changes, since we have the classic all-screen finish with reduced edges and the classic camera integrated into a floating island. We had already said on previous occasions that Samsung was not going to be able to integrate the front camera into the screen, and that this achievement would be reserved, in principle, for the Galaxy Z Fold 3, although it is important to note that the latter is not confirmed.

Regarding the rear, we find a new module dedicated to the rear cameras that fits much less with the design of the terminal, since it integrates in a more natural way and it does not look like an exaggerated and unsightly bulge. I like what I see, and that combination of two colors differentiating the frame of the chassis and the area of the rear camera that presents the model finished in silver and gold also seems successful.

Special mention should be made of the framework of the Galaxy S21, since as you may have appreciated it has a touch that reminds us, and much, of the iPhone 5s, and also of the iPhone 12, a terminal that, as many of our readers will know, has “inherited” part of the design of that one. Gone is the slightly curved finish of the Galaxy S20, the Galaxy S21 features a more angular and “solid” touch that manages to break the continuity that we have seen so far in the Galaxy S series, and that gives it a novel and attractive touch.

Possible specs and release date of the Galaxy S21

The presentation of the Galaxy S21 will take place in January 2021, specifically in the middle, and if no problem arises, its launch will take place at the end of that month. The sale price has not transpired, but it is rumored that Samsung will maintain the same price level that we saw in the Galaxy S20 to compete more directly with Apple’s iPhone 12, and that even could use plastic and metal, instead of glass and metal, in the standard version of the Galaxy S21 to reduce manufacturing cost a bit and lower its selling price.

In terms of specs, the most recent leak we’ve had the chance to see indicates that all three versions of the Galaxy S21 they will have a common base, which would revolve around the Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 875 SoCs, although obviously they will also present important differences that we can see in the attached list.

Several rumors assumed that the three terminals will come no charger and no headphones, information that is supported by the strategy that Apple has adopted with the launch of the iPhone 12, but the truth is that it is still there is nothing confirmed in this regard.

I think it is unlikely that Samsung will decide to do without the charger in its new flagship smartphones, but it is possible that it will end up eliminating the headphones to integrate some type of special promotion focused on its main wireless models.

As always, we will be attentive to the official announcement to tell you all the news of the new Galaxy S21.
