Apple Watch Series 6 will be the new smartwatch from the Cupertino firm and it points to a near launch once the shortage of the model it will replace has been verified.
The inventory drop A product is a technique used by manufacturers when a new model is about to hit the market. And in Apple it is quite common. 9to5Mac has verified the lack of availability of the Watch 5 in the Apple Stores of several countries.
Basic versions of the Watch Series 5 such as the one using the aluminum chassis and white sport strap no longer available in the United States, China and Japan, and other higher versions have suffered the same fate. In Brazil the delivery time has been extended to two weeks. The collection option is also not available for some versions, but this may be more related to the closure of physical stores due to the pandemic.
Apple Watch Series 6 launch
In the main European markets there is no lack of stock at the moment, although there is no doubt that ‘something is cooking’ and this cannot be anything other than the launch of a new generation of Apple product led by the iPhone 12.
From what we know so far the Apple Watch Series 6 it won’t be any revolution. The Watch 5 happens to be the best smartwatch on the market and Apple dominates the segment in an overwhelming way. The new model would maintain the same design as the Watch 5, options of aluminum, stainless steel, ceramic and titanium cases, finishes and straps to choose from a wide variety.
The biggest news would come from the sensors and the new functions it could perform. The main ones would be detection of oxygen level in blood and better sleep monitoring. All the wearables that value themselves are focusing on the supervision of health and sports activity and the Apple models the most.
It would not hurt if the firm increased the device autonomy. It was the biggest criticism (and perhaps the only one along with its high price) of the previous model. Taking into account the lack of inventory and that tAll the previous series had been presented annually in the month of September since the original was launched in 2015, we can expect that the Apple Watch Series 6 will be another of the products that Apple announces along with the iPhone 12.
Of course, this year they will reach the market somewhat later than expected due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
