Goodbye Project xCloud, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for Android arrives

Although just a few days ago we were talking about the next addition of the Xbox Game Pass catalog to Project xCloud, and the end of your trial period for September, Microsoft has started today «a limited beta period to ensure a smooth transition to the cloud gaming experience to the Xbox Game Pass app on Android«.

So while we can still access the free service for now, this new closed beta will focus on early access to the 100+ titles that will be added next month. And it is that Microsoft will finally abandon the Project xCloud nomenclature for the arrival of a single service under the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which will join the monthly subscription model of the rest of your Game Pass plans.

Minimum requirements Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for Android

  • Operating system: Android 6.0 or higher.
  • Connection: broadband connection (Wi-Fi or mobile network) with a Ghz band and a minimum download speed of 10 Mbps, and a recommended Wi-Fi connection of 5 Ghz; a Bluetooth 4.0 or higher connection is also required.
  • Others: gamepad compatible with the Xbox Wireless Controller system (we recommend an Xbox One wireless controller with Bluetooth).

Currently available through the Google Play Store, under the application Xbox Game Streaming AppAll we will need is a valid Microsoft account with an Xbox gamertag, for which we can use any Microsoft email account, or our old Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One accounts.

In addition, all those who already have an Xbox One, will also have the possibility of making their own streams and connections with their console, being able to pass the game between both terminals at any time, expanding the available catalog to all the titles they already own.

But best of all, all the progress we accumulate in these games will be saved in the future not only for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service itself, but for any Microsoft device with an Internet connection, associated with our account.

Availability and price

While for the moment Project xCloud continues to remain a completely free service, after switching to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from next September 15 this service will cost 14.99 euros per month, with a notable launch discount that will allow us to test the service for just one euro during the first month.

At the moment under the limitation of Android devices, Microsoft continues to insist on its negotiations with Apple to add its game service to the App Store in the near future.
