ASUS Announces First HDMI 2.1 Certified Gaming Monitors

Although we have been able to see the arrival of the new HDMI 2.1 standard for a long time, we still miss the greater integration of these ports in most gaming monitors on the market. And it is that with the imminent arrival of the next generation of consoles later this year, it seems that ASUS ROG has been the first to take the big step by announcing the first complete series of gaming monitors with an HDMI 2.1 certification.

Available under three models of 27, 32 and 43 inches, these new monitors will feature a full bandwidth of up to 48 Gbps to support 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) images at variable refresh rates of up to 120 Hz.

In addition, low automatic latency will be maintained thanks to the technologies ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VVR (Varbiable Refresh Rate), specifically designed to allow the connected devices themselves to control the display’s processing mode, prioritizing low latency or processing quality depending on the content.

In this way, the response between the controllers, the image and the games is made to be more precise, maintaining a better gaming experience.

As part of this certification, the new ASUS gaming monitors have been tested for Allion Labs, an international company specialized in product testing, subjecting the new family to rigorous Fixed Rate Link (FRL) tests, including FRL Electrical, FRL Pixel Decoding and FRL Protocol tests, to ensure full compatibility with upcoming HDMI devices 2.1, being in fact the first monitors worldwide to pass this certification.

Availability and price

At the moment no further details have been released on the full specifications of any of the monitors, nor their starting prices on the market. And in fact for the moment this family of monitors has not even been named yet.

Although this does not imply that its launch is far. In fact, ASUS itself has already ensured that we can expect their availability for the holiday season, in time to be acquired together with the new generation of consoles.
